Don't Look Down (at the End of the World)
It’s a prime example of melodic progressive rock with broad appeal in its shorter numbers such as the catchy ‘Telling Tales’, but the crowning glory is the 18 minute ‘Reflections’ Philip Jackson - Dimensions in Sound incredibly accessible and enjoyable Kevin Rowland - Prog Archives ------------------------------------------------------------------- This is our first mostly vocal album in many years and we think one of our best. The vocals by Thomas and Iona are stellar and really bring something new to our music. As with previous releases, Maurizio and Hector provide the backbone on drums and bass. I can't sing their praises highly enough. We also have guests on flute, sax and violin. This album also features our longest composition for some time. Reflections is an 18 minute beast. Great vocals throughout, odd middle section leading to another odd middle section, some up-tempo groovy stuff and a killer chorus. And it's got mellotrons and choirs, too! With the same musicians as the rest of the album, we recorded two additional songs (Groundfall II and Zero Matter) but they made the album far too long. I firmly believe these days that albums of 40-45 minutes in length are the absolute sweet spot. However, the two tracks (again, featuring a full band line-up) will appear as singles during 2023. I do hope you enjoy this album and look forward to any comments/reviews you may have. As ever, sincere thanks for supporting independent music.
