rs Life 2 Review - PlayStation 4 - ThisGenGaming
Trying to become a real r isn’t an easy thing, just ask anyone who has managed to successfully do it. It takes a ton of work and even some luck to become big and popular on the platform. If you just don’t have the time to do that and still want to see what it’s like to be one then rs Life 2 from Raiser Games may be for you. rs Life 2 is the sequel to rs Life – OMG Edition and looks to improve on what the first game started. The team has done a lot of new stuff for the sequel including giving you and open world to explore in the form of NewTube City. You just moved here and you start off by choosing between a few different areas to live in. I went with the downtown area and I’m not really sure if it makes much of a difference. The game lets you create your character with there being plenty of options between your gender, looks, clothes, and more. Once all that’s out of the way its on to chasing trends and earning income. The game does have a story to it but honestly it wasn’t at all interesting to me and I chose to just focus on the gameplay and tasks at hand. This second game is really all about getting out into the city and chasing trends to make videos about so that you can increase your subscriber count, become more popular, and make more money. Sometimes you’ll be doing commissions for people to earn some extra money, other times you’ll be checking your phone for trending hashtags and seek out relevant material to take pictures and video of or interview people. Sometimes you’ll interview video game versions of real rs while other times you’ll have to attend big events to cover them. Once you have all the content you need recorded, you’ll head back home to edit it together into new videos to grow your channel. Some areas of the map are locked until you reach certain goals so you’ll be staying in some of the same areas for some time. Most of what I just said is what you’ll be repeating day after day. It’s all about that grind to grow your channel and because of that the gameplay can become a little repetitive over time. Getting around the different areas can be annoying too due to the long load times you have to sit through while transitioning. While the game did get repetitive to me, I could see some people really sitting down and putting long sessions into it. For me It was best played in shorter bursts like and hour or two but if you really get into the groove of putting videos together, buying new rigs, upgrading your house, marrying someone, etc. then you could lose hours at a time in this game. rs Life 2 is a deeper experience than the first game and is a solid new addition to the life simulation genre. There is plenty to do to keep you busy while trying to rise through the r ranks but to me it got a bit repetitive. Exploring the city and chasing trends can be enjoyable for awhile but the frequent load times also interrupt your groove. If those negatives aren’t enough to put you off from becoming a virtual r then by all means come visit NewTube City. *rs Life 2 is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
